Last week we went to Barcelona for the biggest annual mobile event, the Mobile World Congress. The show started with a bang, a big event on Sunday offered by 2 device giants, LG and Samsung that set the theme for MWC 2016: is all about virtual reality.
Once again it was an event of superlatives with a new record of well over 100,000 visitors from all over the world, an increase of more than six percent over last year. In recent years, the global players in the IT industry used the event to showcase the world as great and new: In addition to 3D mobile phones and multimedia, 4D experiences were the attraction of the event. Also, the 5G, which is seen by some industry observers as a crucial step in the advancement of the Internet of Things was a major topic of discussion during MWC 2016.
The four-day exhibition and conference engage executives from the world’s largest and most influential software companies, mobile operators, finance and healthcare, equipment providers, internet companies, and companies from industry sectors such as automotive, as well as government delegations from across the globe.
The major trade show marked the debut of numerous smartphones, gadgets, devices, accessories, proofs of concept, and all sorts of interesting tech.

Mobile devices are increasingly penetrating businesses of all sizes. Whether we speak about the Internet of Things (IoT), mobile extensions for ERP systems or e-commerce: users use increasingly rapid pace (only) mobile devices for personal and business applications.
Accordingly, most of the demand for mobile devices and for fast and secure wireless connections, whose management and control is increasingly becoming a big challenge, especially for network operators is growing. In a clear sign of this trend is to suppliers of services and products that combat mobile-riding or network hacking, now constituting a multi-store stand at MWC.
