Challenge

With plants all over the world, and millions of products manufactured, the client wanted a global database containing all data needed for OES business during the whole OES lifecycle and other support specific OES business activities: Product life cycle management.

When deciding to contract an IT partner, the client was already implementing the project with internal teams. The challenge was to develop new features and extend the project on a long term. This was back in 2008. Since then, the project has been developed, tested, and maintained by our team.

Solution

Infobest developed a complex solution integrating three distinct components (web application, web service and windows service) revolving around a MSSQL database. The web application is used internally by the automotive company for an overview of its products. The database is regularly updated with data imported from SAP clients. The imports are handled by the other two components. The window service is also performing operations ranging from report extraction to data processing and data aggregation.
